A Letter to the Mrs. Grout Community About Covid-19

Update as of Fall 2021: All operations have resumed as normal.

Dear Mrs. Grout Community and Friends,

This week was the hardest week in the history of our company. Over the years, we’ve become deeply connected to each other, too many of you, and to what it means to be welcomed into our customer’s homes. We’ve formed friendships, developed a deeply connected team, and gone from bootstrapped start-up to a fixture in the local community. The growth hasn’t always come easy and certainly hasn’t been perfect. But it’s been important to us, and filled each of us on the Mrs. Grout team with meaning each day.

This crisis, the likes of which no one has ever seen, feels like it’s tearing so much of what we’ve built together apart. Simply put, we cannot do what we do every day without putting people at risk. So, it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing that Mrs. Grout will temporarily cease all residential operations until at least April 30th, 2020.

For the time being, our team will continue to work on unoccupied residential homes and offices while following all recommended safety and social distancing standards with our crew members.

We explored many different options to keep serving you and simply cannot continue to work in occupied spaces without putting our team and our customers at risk. 

In addition to serving unoccupied spaces, we are attempting to keep our staff working for as long as possible by providing them with at-home projects to help prepare for the grand opening of our new facility, which we hope to be able to invite you to visit this summer. We believe that the core of what Mrs. Grout stands for remains at this moment and will be here when all this is behind us: A community of friendships, rooted in the desire to help each other feel great in our homes. We are grateful for everything we have experienced together over the years and can’t wait to serve you in your homes again when all this has passed, hopefully very soon.
